The Monteverde Area Tour:

Poas Volcano and Las Paz Waterfalls Full Day Trip:

The Poas Volcano, northwest of San Jose, is as captivating as the famous Irazu Volcano to the east. Towering to 9,000 feet, Poas is a phenomenon of nature. The active crater is one the wildest in the world, occasionally erupting with a discharge of smoke and steam. When you think of Costa Rica, you probably imagine lush tropical rainforest, flowing white rivers, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, and flowers. Official Contest Rules:

You must agree to the rules in order to enter the contest.

1. No Purchase Necessary: No purchase or payment of any money is necessary to enter. Purchase will not improve the chances of winning. All federal, state and/or local rules and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
2. Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years old to enter and a resident of Colorado Employees of KMGH-TV, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.(“The McGraw-Hill Companies”), Internet Broadcast Systems, Inc. (“IBS”) and the Butterfly Pavilion are not eligible (collectively, the “Sponsors”).
3. To Enter: To enter go to the Butterfly Pavilion located at 6252 W. 104th Ave, Westminster, CO 80020 starting 9am September 19 and ending October 11 9pm. Only one entry per day will be accepted. Sponsors are not responsible for late, misdirected or illegible entries nor for technical or Internet access failure.
4. Prize (s): First Prize: Coach Airfare for 2 from Denver to Costa Rica, accommodations for 7 nights at the Marriott Costa Rica, round trip transfers between the airport and hotel, Monteverde area tour with round trip transfers to/from hotel, Poas Volcano and Las Pas Waterfalls with transfers to/from hotel, bilingual guide, and lunch (Value $10,000). Reservations require 60 day advanced notice. Second Prize: $100 Butterfly Pavilion Gift Shop Credit. Third Prize: $50 Butterfly Pavilion Gift Shop Credit.
5. Prize Conditions: Prizes are supplied by KMGH-TV. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or substitutable for any other item by winner. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value for any prize, for any reason. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and fees, plus any other incidentals. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release form prior to receipt of a prize acknowledging that The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. has the right to publicize his/her name and likeness, the fact that he/she has won the a certain prize and all matters incidental thereto without the payment of any compensation for a period of one (1) year. The winner will be required to waive any and all claims against the Sponsors for any loss which may occur from participation in the contest or from the receipt or use of the prize. Non-compliance will result in disqualification and forfeit of prize.
6. How to Win: Random drawing will be held on or about October 12 at the Butterfly Pavilion. Three winners will be notified by telephone that they will have the chance to compete in “Rainforest Jeopardy” on October 24th 1pm at the Butterfly Pavilion. On October 24th 1pm at the Butterfly Pavilion the three (3) people chosen are shown six (6) subjects, each with five (5) even $ values between $200-$1000 during the first round. Contestant #1 chooses the first subject and $ value (e.g: Literature for $200). The clue is then read aloud to the contestants. Once the clue is finished being read, the contestants can try to answer. The first contestant to press his/her buzzer in the hand gives an answer. If the answer is right, that $ value with that clue is added to the contestant's score. A wrong answer will subtract the $ from the contestant's score. In the first round, there is one (1) hidden clue called the "daily double". If a contestant chooses the daily double clue, only that contestant gets to try to answer & he/she can risk any or all of his/her points. In the second round, the Double jeopardy round, there are two (2) "daily doubles" and all the clue values are doubled ($400-$2000). The contestant with the lowest score chooses first. If a contestant(s) has a negative score at the end of Double Jeopardy, he/she is eliminated from the game. In the final round, any/all remaining contestants are shown a final subject & clue and have thirty (30) seconds to make their bids. The contestants have thirty (30) seconds to answer the final clue. After all the bids are added/subtracted, the player with the most $ wins the Grand Prize. The player with the second most $ wins the second prize. The player with the third most $ wins the third prize. In the event of a tie, the winner will be awarded the prize via a coin flip. All answers must be in the form of a question. During the first round you will be allowed to ask it in question form if your answer was not in question form. During the second round the answer will be considered wrong if not answered in a question format.. Second and third place finishers will receive prizes for second and third instead of keeping the money won during that night's game. Winner must provide KMGH with appropriate identification (Driver’s License or picture ID) and pick up prize by October 30th at KMGH between 9a & 5p.
7. Odds: Odds of winning will depend upon number of eligible entries received.
8. Winner’s List: For a winner’s list, send a self addressed, stamped envelope, after October 24th to “Winners List” Butterfly Fly Away 123 Speer Blvd. Denver, Colorado 80203.
9. Contest Conditions: The contestants and winners release the Sponsors, their respective affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, including their respective employees, agents and representatives from and against any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from the contest and the awarding and use of the prizes, including liability for personal injury and/or property damage nor for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.
10. Disqualification: In the event that a winner fails to claim his or her prize within 72 hours of notification or fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the contest, the unawarded prize will be awarded to the second place finisher. In the event that the second place winner fails to claim his or her prize within 72 hours of notification or fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the contest, the unawarded prize will be awarded to the third place finisher. In the event that the third place winner fails to claim his or her prize within 72 hours of notification or fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the contest, the unawarded prize will be awarded to an alternate winner selected at random from remaining entries.
11. Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. and none will be returned. Winner will be required to give The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. his/her social security number, legal name, age, current address, and phone number for tax record keeping purposes only.
12. Privacy: KMGH-TV on occasion shares information collected about contestants included on the entry forms with other units within the family of The McGraw-Hill Companies whose products or service we feel may be of interest to you. 13. Disputes: By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the judges. Any dispute regarding the sweepstakes or these rules will be resolved by a panel of judges from The McGraw-Hills Companies, Inc. and their decision shall be final.
