We come to you with a themed program perfect for seniors that includes a colorful slide show, live animals, fun biology facts and a question & answer time. Discover the breathtaking beauty of a tropical rainforest without leaving your facility! Our seven outreach programs are especially designed for groups who might find it hard to make the journey to the Pavilion.

Visitors are invited to experience an enchanting evening butterfly program in our tropical conservatory. Participants enjoy a guided walk through the conservatory at dusk and have the opportunity to observe butterflies and activities not normally seen during regular operating hours. Sunset Strolls are offered monthly.
Pre-registration is required. The Butterfly Pavilion also offers Group Sunset Strolls if you'd like to have a program exclusively for your group! Call 720-974-1862 or email

Art & Science Workshops
Do you enjoy art? Are you inspired by science? Take advantage of Butterfly Pavilion Art & Science Workshops and create a unique and beautiful art project while learning all about the science behind the art! From cochineal dye to pollinators, enjoy science-inspired artistic adventures this year. Workshops include breakfast to get your “artistic juices” flowing, investigation and development of various art techniques and time in our tropical conservatory or outdoors for inspiration. Credit from Colorado schoolof Mines is available for teachers.
Teacher Workshops
Designed for K-12 teachers, these fun and interactive workshops will teach you how to use invertebrates and plants to teach art, science, history, literacy, and environmental science in a way that gets students excited about learning. Choose from 1/2 day, full day, or multi-day workshops. Credit from Colorado School of Mines is available.

Relish a quiet hour of tripod photography in our tropical conservatory before we open our doors to the general public. Snap photos of awakening butterflies and exotic tropical flowers in the morning light. $15 includes tripod photography as well as full-day admission to the Butterfly Pavilion ($8.50 for members). Occurs monthly on the 3rd Tuesday. Morning session begins at 7:45 am.

Join Pavilion staff for a practical look into taking photographs of invertebrates out in the field. Start with an introductory talk about getting the most out of your equipment and then venture outside to explore our gardens and grounds for photography opportunities with our many-legged friends.
