Tropical Plants

Step into a green and wild place in our tropical conservatory. Brilliantly colored and delicately fragrant flowers bloom year-round providing food for our butterflies.

Heavily blooming species such as Coral Vine (Antignon leptopus) and Porterweed (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis) are especially important food sources. Foliage plants provide shelter and roosting sites.

Bountiful Beauty

More than half of the world's plant species live in tropical rainforests, and many of those are economically or culturally useful to humans.

Our displays of bromeliads, orchids, cycad and carnivorous plants offer visitors an opportunity to learn about some of the amazing plant adaptations that contribute to the rainforests' outstanding diversity.
