Butterfly Pavilion Emergency Fund for Animal Care and Employee Assistance
At such unprecedented time in our history, we need your support now more than ever.
As a global community, we are facing a time of unprecedented public health challenges and economic uncertainties. Above all, Butterfly Pavilion is committed to the health and safety of our animals, guests, staff and volunteers. To combat the spread of COVID-19, Butterfly Pavilion temporarily closed our doors to the public on Friday, March 13th.
During this time Butterfly Pavilion will continue to be a scientific and educational resource for families. Check out our virtual learning resources to see all the programs and content that you can access from anywhere!
Unfortunately, one of the many consequences of this public health challenge is the effect on nonprofit organizations, which play critical roles in our society. As a nonprofit, and the world’s only AZA accredited stand-alone invertebrate zoo, Butterfly Pavilion relies on ticket sales, donations, memberships, events and our loyal patrons to ensure that we can continue to care for our animals and deliver the meaningful programs that have inspired our community for the past 25 years.
Butterfly Pavilion is committed to paying our entire staff, including our part-time and hourly employees during this difficult time. We couldn’t achieve all of the incredible work we do without our remarkable team dedicated to caring for our animals, inspiring the next generation of conservation stewards through educational programming, and leading our global community in invertebrate science, research and conservation.
It costs $12,258 per day to care for our animals and provide wages and benefits for our 77 employees, which equates to $367,744 a month.
At such unprecedented time in our history, we need your support now more than ever. All assistance to Butterfly Pavilion during this period will be directed to our Emergency Fund for Animal Care and Employee Assistance. Click here to make your gift today.
As a community we have faced uncertainties before, but with your help Butterfly Pavilion will emerge from this global challenge even stronger. At the appropriate time, we so look forward to seeing you back at Butterfly Pavilion, but until then, be well and take good care of one another.
