Learn about Bee for Elephants, a fascinating program that uses bee fences to create a simple, and effective solution for human-elephant conflicts. This technique is championed locally by Butterfly Pavilion and the Katie Adamson Conservation Fund. Bees for Elephants is creating a buzz around the globe.

The evening features a special guest speaker, Lameck Mkuburo of the Tanzanian Elephant Foundation (www.tef.or.tz) who will discuss how human-elephant conflict impacts Tanzanians and elephant conservation, and how beehive fencing is creating a positive change for communities and elephants. Our work allows the Foundation to guide local communities on the use of non-lethal methods to reduce conflicts with elephants, reduce crop losses, and diversify local livelihoods through the sale of honey and wax — a win-win solution for people, animals, and biodiversity.
