Rainforest Yoga & Intro to Ayurveda
Thursday March 5 | 6pm-7:15pm Cost: $16 members; $18 non-members
Somewhere along your journey you may have encountered the word Ayurveda. Even if you don’t recall hearing the term, you’re likely to have heard talk of Ayurvedic remedies or practices, as there are some that have worked their way into mainstream wellness rituals (like... oil pulling, dry brushing, or taking turmeric). Yet, you still may be left wondering... What exactly Ayurveda is? Where does it come from? And how might it be of benefit to me on my wellness journey?
Ayurveda is a full-spectrum system of healing. It is distinct in that it emphasizes presentation and customizes wellness techniques to the unique constitution of the individual. The Ayurvedic lifestyle focuses primarily on diet, as well as daily and seasonal routines. Due to its holistic nature, Ayurveda also incorporates the practices of yoga and meditation.
Join Molly McConnell for a 75 minute Yoga and Introduction to Ayurveda Workshop, where you will be invited to reflect on your own experience of your body to better understand and appreciate through the holistic lens of Ayurveda.
We will begin with a short embodied yoga practice, followed by a guided meditation/visualization — both of which will prepare your mind and body for the opportunity to learn a new approach to wellness that supports your individual needs. You will also walk away with a curated daily routine checklist, to begin integrating a simple Ayurvedic lifestyle at home.
Think of Ayurveda as the art of daily living. With even a basic understanding of this art, YOUcan and will empower yourself to know yourself more deeply and make small daily shifts to bring yourself closer to balance.
