Thursday, November 7, 2024, 6:00 –8:00 p.m.
Join us for an immersive class that blends art, science, and tradition to explore the rich cultural roots of Día de los Muertos through storytelling, nature, and food. Discover the symbolic connection between Monarch butterflies and the spirits of ancestors and learn how to honor loved ones by crafting edible amaranth skulls in a hands-on workshop.
This unique experience is co-taught by an Indigenous Relations Consultant from Harvest of All First Nations and a facilitator from Luna Cultura, who weaves together art, science, and culture. Through the Aztec Mexica cosmovision, we’ll explore why this season calls us to remember and celebrate our ancestors, the original significance of these dates, and the symbolic meanings that flow through both the holiday and the natural world.
