A pinned butterfly specimen, ready for display

These facilities raise insects through their full life cycles, after which naturally expired specimens are collected for scientific, educational, and artistic use.In select cases, The Terrarium Shop also utilizes wild-collected insects that are considered invasive, overpopulated, or agricultural pests. This helps to support ecosystem balance while minimizing impact on vulnerable species. No endangered or CITES-protected species are used, and all insects are legally sourced, imported under strict federal guidelines, and inspected by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.You can read their policy here.
