Field trips feature self-guided exploration of our exhibits, experiences with live animals and interactive technology, and interaction with our invertebrate experts!

Field Trip Details

• Availability: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
• Class add-on availability: September-May at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., or 12:30 p.m.
• Student Pricing: $6/student for admission* +$3/student for class add-on (if applicable)
• Adult Pricing: One free adult/5 students, additional adults at regular adult admission price.
• Capacity: 10-50 students per class

*Partial admission scholarships available for qualifying groups. 

Field Trip Add-Ons

• Classroom Programs: All programs are 45 minutes. Program titles and descriptions can be found here.
• Virtual Extension Programs: Virtual pre- and post-visit programs at a time that works best for your class. Programs are approximately 15 minutes and are led by a Butterfly Pavilion educator. The pre- and post-visits are designed to enhance your students’ learning experience during the field trip and extend that learn beyond their visit.
  • Cost: $40 for both pre- and post- virtual visit.
  • Availability: Virtual Extension Programs are currently available for the following programs: Amazing Adaptations, Butterfly Buddies, Life Cycles, Pollinator Pals, and What’s that Bug.
• Junior Naturalist Adventure Guide: Add this self-guided booklet to your field trip for $3/student.
  • Follows 2^nd, 3^rd, and 4^th grade Next Generation Science Standards
  • Includes interactive experiences, educational materials, and hands-on activities
  • Students will receive a button and certificate when they complete the guide, making them an official Junior Naturalist!
