Native Bees of the Rocky Mountain Region

Learn about the diversity of our pollinators of the Rocky Mountain Region. This talk will highlight the origins, differences and preferences of the many unique bees that we see in this Colorado region along with solutions to contribute to their continued success.  

Your instructor: Ryan Bartlett lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife and two daughters. He is a certified Arborist, Naturalist and plant pathologist and is the lead instructor for the Arborist Apprenticeship Program at Front Range Community College. In addition to his primary profession as an arborist, he founded Colorado Native Bee, an educational organization highlighting over 1,000 species of native bees in the state. Through Colorado Native Bee, Ryan has spearheaded outreach to educate about the importance of native plants and native pollinator conservation. Ryan enjoys speaking in various settings such as schools, conferences, state parks, state legislature hearings, to elevate native pollinators, habitat and arboriculture issues. He just finished his latest project writing a Field Guide to Native Bees of the Western United States.
