Calling all photographers and spider enthusiasts! Capture the beauty and mystery of spiders and enter Butterfly Pavilion’s Spiders Around the World Photo Contest. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, this is your chance to showcase your talent and passion for these incredible arachnids by submitting your best spider photo.
Our giveaway sponsor, Mike’s Camera, will judge the competition in collaboration with Butterfly Pavilion, so impress the experts and compete for some fantastic prizes!
Contest Details:
- Photo Submission Period: September 26 – October 24
- Review Period: Photo submissions will be evaluated by our panel of experts after the deadline.
- Winner Announcement: October 31
Contest Rules:
- Tag @ButterflyPavilion and @mymikescamera and use the contest hashtag #BPSpiders25 when submitting your photos.
- Photos must feature a spider taken at Butterfly Pavilion between September 26 – October 24, 2025 during our annual Spiders Around the World exhibition.
- Follow all visitor rules and guidelines when photographing our spiders.
- Maximum of three submissions per person across Instagram and Facebook (be sure your account is set to “public” so our team can view your submissions).
- By entering this contest, you grant Butterfly Pavilion permission to use your images on social media unless you indicate otherwise.
PLEASE DO NOT
- Use tripods or flash photography.
- Submit photos of people without their permission.
- Touch or move the free-hanging orb weavers.
Photo Opportunities:
General admission is required to visit Butterfly Pavilion during Spiders Around the World, September 26 – October 31, open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Prizes:
Three winners, selected by Mike’s Camera and Butterfly Pavilion, will be notified on October 30 via Instagram or Facebook direct message. While multiple submissions are allowed, each participant can only win one prize.
