Pollinator Awareness Through
Conservation & Education (PACE)
PACE is the umbrella for all Butterfly Pavilion’s pollinator programs and projects, and a call to action for all to join an experience of social cohesion and connection – a feeling of membership and a clear path to participation that engages multiple sectors of society, as well as local and global audiences. It is an effort to further demonstrate Butterfly Pavilion’s pollinator expertise and deep institutional knowledge.

What is Pollinator Awareness through Conservation and Education (PACE)?
Butterfly Pavilion is a leader in pollinator protection and conservation, including creating pollinator districts, conducting research, leading conservation programs, and involving communities and conservation partners through the revitalization of Pollinator Awareness through Conservation and Education (PACE) initiative during a two-month celebration, Pollinator Palooza. PACE is integrated throughout Butterfly Pavilion and showcases the total impact of our diverse pollinator programs while inviting and encouraging public and private participation.
Pollinators are animals that help feed the world. From the smallest fly to a large, lumbering bumble bee, pollinators are vital for food production and healthy and diverse ecosystems. By transferring pollen from flower to flower, pollinators initiate the reproductive process in plants, in agriculture and in the wild. This process gives us fruits, nuts, chocolate, coffee and even tequila! Almost one out of every three bites of food we eat is because of a pollinator.
