Westminster, Colo. – Feb. 11, 2019 – Colorado’s Butterfly Pavilion has long offered birthday parties for children as a unique way to enjoy and explore the invertebrate zoo and insect center, and now they will offer these parties to children in need in the Denver metro area for free. Once a month, Butterfly Pavilion and A Precious Child will throw a one-of-a-kind birthday experience for a child facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty.
“As a parent, I’ve been to a lot of birthday parties, and a Butterfly Pavilion birthday party is totally unique, exposing kids to the fascinating world of invertebrates,” said Russ Pecoraro, VP of Marketing for Butterfly Pavilion. “As a community asset, we want to share our message with some kids who might not otherwise get the chance, and because of A Precious Child and an anonymous donor who felt the same way, we’re able to make it happen.”
A Precious Child helps identify the child and gift the experience to them through their Precious Gift program each month. Once selected, Butterfly Pavilion will host the child with 40 of their family and friends where they will get to experience all the wonder of Butterfly Pavilion through special animal encounters, themed decorations, all-day exhibit exploration and more. A Precious Child additionally provides the child with a present for their celebration. As a special add-on, Nothing Bundt Cakes Westminster will donate a FREE birthday cake to complete the celebration.
The program started in January and February’s family is already looking at dates to book their party. Parties will continue once a month, year-round.
“Providing a gift to a child in need during celebratory life events allows them to experience the joys of childhood, gives them hope for the future, as well as a sense of normalcy during a time in their life that is anything but normal,” added Carina Martin, A Precious Child’s CEO and Founder. “We are excited for this new partnership and the opportunity to celebrate the incredible children we serve.”
