Meet Cynthia Hastings, Horticulture Manager at Butterfly Pavilion

Cynthia completed her B.S. in Botany and Environmental Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2017. While earning her undergraduate degree, she studied tropical ecology in Brazil, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua. In school, some of her research included studying invasive species spread and ecological damage from Garlic Mustard and Emerald Ash Borer. After graduating, she worked in agriculture, environmental education, and horticulture. While in Colorado, she earned her master gardener certification, and specialized in designing, installing, and maintaining pollinator-friendly xeriscape gardens in public and private landscapes. She is passionate about beautifying garden spaces for people to enjoy while simultaneously creating flourishing wildlife habitats.
