Getting habitats ready for these incredible animals takes precision — especially when it comes to their water chemistry. Our team is committed to the highest standard of animal care, and that meant shifting our celebration to give our animals time to settle into their new homes.

We’ve set a new date for your exclusive Member Night at Water’s Edge: Tuesday, November 17, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.

And to make the wait worth it, we’ve added something just for you: as our members, you’ll be the very first to hear our Giant Pacific Octopus’s name, revealed for the first time that night before we share it with anyone else.

• Private, after-hours access to the fully reimagined Water’s Edge — closed to the public for this occasion 
• A rare introduction to our new resident: the Giant Pacific Octopus, one of the most intelligent creatures on Earth 
• Twelve reimagined habitats and over 100 different species, from moon jellies to fish-eating anemones 
• Ask an Expert: a rare chance to speak with our Aquarium Manager, Matt Polner, about the animals that call Water’s Edge home 
• Hands-on encounters at the Living Tidepool and a mesmerizing turn at Illuminated Reefs 
• Small bites, drinks, and an atmosphere built for discovery 
• Be the first to hear our new Giant Pacific Octopus’ name for the first time!
