The current application window is currently closed. Please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form to be notified when applications are next open.

Next cycle: Applications reopen on June 22nd to July 6th. Accepted volunteers will need to attend the mandatory with a mandatory orientation on July 26th.

A Service Enterprise Organization

Butterfly Pavilion is certified as a Service Enterprise, an organization that fundamentally leverages volunteer talent to deliver on its social mission. Our volunteers are fully integrated into our team, making us more adaptable, sustainable, and impactful.

Colorado Butterfly Monitoring Network

Join one of Colorado’s longest-running community science programs. CBMN volunteers monitor butterfly populations across the Front Range, contributing data that helps scientists track species health, habitat quality, and the effects of climate change. Whether you’re an experienced naturalist or just getting started, we’ll give you the tools and training to make a real impact.

Urban Prairies Project

The Urban Prairies Project (UPP) improves the ecological health of urban and suburban open spaces along the Front Range and beyond by connecting community members with habitat conservation for pollinators and other wildlife.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Some positions carry additional age restrictions or training requirements. Every volunteer must complete a background check, attend orientation, and pay a one-time onboarding fee of $25. Butterfly Pavilion does not offer court-ordered community service placements.
